Are Apple Watch Bands Interchangeable Between Series?
The Apple iWatch is no doubt one of the top best smartwatches that you can buy in the market now and definitely one of the most popular choices. Other than being an incredibly functional smartwatch, this particular series of smartwatches is also very customizable in terms of look and styling. So, if you were wondering if the watch bands on the Apple smartwatch are interchangeable, they absolutely are.
Interchangeable for same case size
While you can definitely change the bands of the Apple smartwatch to plenty of your preferred styles, do pay a little attention to the sizing of the watch case of the wearable. To simply things, choose a band with the case size in mind and not the watch itself regardless of what series it belongs to. Every Apple strap can fit every Apple watch as long as they have the same case size which comes in 38mm, 40mm, 42mm, and 44mm. Watch of case sizes 38mm and 40mm shares the same band while the bands for 42mm and 44mm cases are compatible with each other.
Case size for Series 1/2/3/4/5
Older Series of Apple IWatch like series 1, 2 and 3 come in case sizes 38mm and 42mm while the newer series 4 and 5 have cases of size 40mm and 44mm. If you happen to be a user switching from the older series to the latest ones, don’t be worry because you can still use back your straps. If you used a 38mm case previously, you can still fit perfectly well for the 40mm case of series 4 and 5. Yay! The same goes for a 42mm case to find the band able to seamlessly work with the 44mm ones.
Shop for fitting bands
Having that in mind, now we can now shop for new watch bands but now the question is, where to? As we all know, Apple official store does offer its own watch bands but only with a pretty limited type and style. Thus, an alternative for apple watch users that wish to have more choices will be to shop for 3rd-party replacement bands for designs that you like but not available from Apple. For most of the 3rd-party replacement band store, the displaying of the band should clearly state the case size it fits which usually listed as 38/40mm and 42/44mm like this or simply 38/40/42/44mm accordingly. If there are cases that the listing does not show a clear description of it, we strongly recommend you to check it with the store before purchasing.
