How do I clean my Fitbit Band? Rubber, Leather, Metal & More!

Now, that Fitbit trackers play an integral part in our life, we tend to wear them 24/7, even in the shower. Without paying attention, dirt can build up on the strap over time, ruining its beauty. While frequent cleaning will remove the bacteria and the odors, we will need different methods to break the buildup. Whether you own the Charge series or the Versa series, this article is for you. Whether your smartwatch band is made of silicone, rubber or elastomer or any other material, following these simple tricks, will save your watch.

Silicone and Elastomer bands

Silicone and Elastomer bands such as your Fitbit Charge 3 classic band, are highly durable and designed to withstand extreme activity. They are waterproof, making them easy to clean with just frequent rinsing under warm water as soap-free cleaner like Aquanil cleanser. To remove harder stains, just rub the band gently with a soft toothbrush.

Stainless Steel and Leather bands

Both Stainless steel bands and the Leather bands are not water-resistant, so avoid soaking them in water. Always use a non-abrasive lint-free cloth and never leave your strap in direct sunlight. If needed add little water and dampen the cloth. Let it air dry and enjoy.

For light-colored leather bands, avoid contacting with darker colored cloth or material to prevent the transfer of colors.

Nylon band

Use a mild soap and rinse the nylon band under cold water. Let the band air dry and enjoy.
